Position Overview


Casino Technical Manager manages and directs the daily operations of the slot department and is responsible for the technical staff, including establishing work priorities and ensuring all applicable Global Gaming (GG) Operations policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly.


Objective


The Casino Technical Manager will ensure the smooth, safe and efficient running of the technical side of the Casino operation, with the slot machines and all other Casino related equipment under the direct control of the Casino Manager.


Primary Job Functions


1. Assist in any duties of a safety nature as requested by Ship’s Command, i.e. safety drills; port manning or gangway duties.

2. Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and security of all slot and video arcade machines, Hybrid games and electronic gaming tables, funds contained therein and their associated systems.

3. Expected to provide the same degree of service maintenance for supplementary Casino equipment, including but not limited to:

  • Bill / Coin counting machines
  • Casino signs and related products
  • Change machines and bill accepting devices
  • Any currency handling accessories, i.e. currency counters, change dispensers, etc.
  • Caribbean Stud Poker tables and related ancillary equipment
  • Gaming tables generally
  • Casino intercom systems
  • Arcade machines, ATMs / cash dispensers and Cage equipment


4. Directly responsible for ensuring parts and supplies related to the upkeep of the Slot Operation are organized and ordered – where necessary – in a timely manner, thus ensuring maximum operational effectiveness.

5. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the technical and marketing aspects of Slot Master / SURF (where applicable), in so far as the player monitoring system is concerned.

6. Enforce GG policies and procedures relative to all areas of the Slot Operation.

7. Be fully aware of the current situation regarding the slots’ revenue relative to what has been budgeted.  

8. Monitor the Slot Operation for any play which could have a marked impact on the overall revenue of the Casino.

9. Complete all required documentation and reports in accordance with GG policies and procedures. These would include but are by no means limited to: Video Arcade Analysis; SAF File; Monthly Equipment Status Report; Surveillance Log etc. 

10. Review and analyze slot data on a regular basis in order to provide the Casino Executive Office with slot analysis of individual games and / or overall slot floor performance.

11. Work with the Casino Manager and submit to the Casino Executive Office recommendations for improvement of the slot floor using the aforementioned slot analysis.

12. Assist in the set-up and collection of coin and bill drop in accordance with established GG procedures.

13. Assist in all hand paid jackpots and hopper fills according to GG policies and procedures.

14. Oversee all slot department configurations, conversions, installations as needed, scheduling work on port days if necessary.

15. Actively assist in slot related promotions.

16. Provide a high level of guest service.

17. As required, settle slot /arcade related disputes that may arise. Report all unsettled claims to the Casino Manager immediately.

18. Respond to communication and requests from the Casino Executive Office; Casino Manager and /or Ship’s Command in a timely manner.

19. Provide training / coaching to all technical staff to ensure that their knowledge is expanded at a rate suitable for the growth of the individual. Embrace, cultivate and inspire all aspects of Culture Essentials within the team.

20. Assist the Casino Manager in monitoring, evaluating, disciplining and /or counseling of all technical staff as per current policy and procedure. 

21. Perform assigned duties during dry /wet docks as instructed by members of the Casino Executive Office.

22. Report discrepancies, suspicious play, activities or incidents of a doubtful nature to the Casino Manager.

23. Assist in special projects when requested by the Casino Executive Office.


Additional Responsibilities


1. Install all Casino safes, perma-vaults, key files etc.

2. Provide assistance when difficulties arise in securing Casino doors, gates, grills and Cashier banks (drawers, cupboards and shelves).

3. Attend Casino Staff meetings as required.

4. Transfer to other vessels within Carnival Corporation, when deemed necessary by members of the Casino Executive Office.
